Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Where is my Room (https://whereismyroom.in), operated from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, India. By creating an account or otherwise using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. What the service is
Where is my Room is a community-driven directory of PGs, hostels and flats. Members add listings, upload photos, suggest corrections, vote on suggestions and leave comments. We are an intermediary that hosts this community content. We are not a broker or landlord, we do not own, rent or manage any listed property, and we are not a party to any agreement between you and an owner, manager or other member. The site does not currently process payments or bookings.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide (including your birth year) is accurate.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping control of your account, including any email or Google account linked to it. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. One account per person. You may not impersonate any person or entity or use another person’s account without permission.
4. Community content and contributions
“Contributions” means anything you submit: listing details, corrections, photos, videos or links, comments, votes and moderator applications.
- Be accurate and honest. Only submit information you believe to be true. Do not create fake, duplicate or misleading listings, and do not submit content for a place you have no genuine knowledge of.
- Only content you may share. Upload only photos and text that you created or have permission to use. Do not upload images of people without their consent, and do not post other people’s personal information, such as phone numbers, unless it is the owner’s published business contact.
- Your licence to us. You keep ownership of your Contributions. You grant Where is my Room a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, reproduce, adapt (for example, resize or compress photos) and distribute them as part of operating and promoting the service.
- Review and removal. Contributions are reviewed through community voting and moderation. We and our moderators may approve, edit, reject, hide or remove any Contribution, at our discretion, for example if it is inaccurate, unlawful, abusive, spam or infringes someone’s rights.
- Voting integrity. Do not manipulate votes, reputation or Renown, including through multiple accounts, false location data or coordinated voting.
5. Listings are informational
Listings, prices, photos, facilities and comments come from the community and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. They are provided for information only. Always visit and verify a place, and confirm the terms in writing with the owner or manager, before you pay any money or sign anything. We are not responsible for the accuracy of any listing or for any dealing between you and a third party.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the site for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or data; interfere with or disrupt the site (including scraping, spamming, or bypassing rate limits and security controls); upload malicious files; harass or abuse other members; or use the site to advertise unrelated products or services.
7. Moderators
Some members may be granted time-limited moderator permissions for specific listings. Moderators are volunteers acting under our guidelines. They are not employees or agents of Where is my Room, and we may change or withdraw moderator permissions at any time.
8. Renown, badges and reputation
Renown, badges and any reputation score are features of the community. They have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may be adjusted or reset by us, including to correct abuse or errors.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or permanently disable any account, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms or for conduct we reasonably believe is harmful to the site, other members or third parties. You may delete your account at any time from My Account, as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual property
The Where is my Room name, logo and site design belong to Where is my Room. Except for your Contributions, you may not copy or reuse them without our permission.
11. Third-party services and links
The site uses third-party services such as Google sign-in and reCAPTCHA, and may link to external websites. Those are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and all its features are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure at all times.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Where is my Room and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, money, deposits, accommodation or profits, arising from your use of the site or from your dealings with any owner, manager or other member.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts at Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
